Testing & Simulator
Testing Your AI
Always test after making changes to your knowledge base or training data. vGuest provides two tools for this.
Test Chat
A quick way to send a test message and see how the AI responds.
- Go to Webchat > Test Chat in your dashboard
- Type a question as a guest would
- See the AI's response instantly
- Adjust your knowledge base if the answer isn't right
- Test again
Good test questions to start with:
- "What's the WiFi password?"
- "Do you have parking?"
- "What time is breakfast?"
- "I need a late checkout"
- "Can you recommend a restaurant?"
Agent Simulator
A more advanced testing environment that simulates a full guest conversation.
- Go to Webchat > Agent Simulator in your dashboard
- Create a test scenario (e.g., guest asking about room availability)
- Run through a multi-turn conversation
- Review how the AI handles follow-up questions and context
The simulator is useful for testing:
- Complex multi-question conversations
- How the AI handles topics not in your knowledge base
- Escalation behavior (when the AI passes to a human)
- Language detection and multilingual responses
Testing checklist
After any knowledge update, run through this quick checklist:
- Basic FAQ (WiFi, parking, checkout) — answers correctly?
- Availability question — shows room options? (if PMS connected)
- Unknown question — escalates properly instead of guessing?
- Different language — responds in guest's language?
- Service request — handles appropriately?
Reporting issues
If the AI gives an unexpected or incorrect response:
- Note the exact question you asked
- Check if the answer exists in your knowledge base
- If it does but the AI still answered wrong, contact your account manager with the conversation details
